 Budget your money to be able to provide what the pet needs BEFORE you get the pet because it’s going to be an 8 to 20 year responsibility to care for the pet properly. Your pet needs high-quality food, canned or kibble or both so it CAN be healthy and live its lifespan. It is better for the pet to feed a modest meal twice a day, in morning and evening, rather than one large meal once a day. You can have kibble out so the dog can snack on it if it gets hungry in the middle of the day, but two meals is much better for their digestive system and just like you, your dog needs to eat more than just once a day to be at its best health! In return, the pet will give you companionship, unconditional love and a lot of happy years as part of the family, if you care for it properly!
