 If there is a feral that is around your home a lot, then, yes, I’d certainly would (and have) make an outdoor shelter for him/her. Will s/he use it? I think it depends on the cat, where the shelter is located, and how safe the cat feels in the shelter. A year ago, we had a feral that we initially met when she had her first litter in our garage. We found the kittens when they were no more than a day or two old. We started working on socializing them right then so that when they were old enough, we could find homes for them and they wouldn’t end up as feral on the street like their mom. We also started taking care of the feral as best as could which, initially, just meant providing her food and clean water. Once the kittens were gone and she left the garage, we made her a bed.
