If not, then, no, you shouldn’t consider declawing a cat because that is essentially what you are doing. It’s an extremely painful procedure that, in addition to the pain from the surgery, can lead to lifelong chronic pain. Their paws can hurt the rest of their lives. And, just like you would walk a bit differently if the part of all of your toes were removed, cats hold themselves slightly differently after having their claws removed. It may not be obvious to the eye that they are walking differently, but they are and this can lead to arthritis in the back/shoulders.
