  Take life a little easier. I've had two near death experiences. The first was heatstroke and severe dehydration. After collapsing and going into convulsions I was rushed to the hospital and on the way they lost my vitals twice. The second was when I had the flue a couple of years ago.   If you're super active and want a dog to complement that, look at high energy dogs like collie, kelpie, cattledog, staffy, jack Russell, etc. If you aren't active go for less active dogs, or toy breeds. You just do your research. Do you have a big yard for bigger breeds or a small yard suitable for smaller breeds? Is it secure?
